GREAT SOUL IN MY COUNTRY 1 © 2007
There is a painting yet to be done,
In it, I and you feature,
I still don’t know if I’ll love you,
But I long for your taste, raw.
A pinch of poison,
Time will offer us,
Until the moment of hell
Is not lacking, to test us.
The intense colours of life,
Pepper red of contentment,
Black passionate sorrow,
Sweet kisses of suffering.
Each stroke will be a risk,
Between desire and pain,
A game of capricious fate,
That will envelop us in fervour.
And when the paints mix,
In the shadows and glimmers that emerge,
It will be in the contrast that we find,
The truth of what we feel and live.
Perhaps in the end, the painting will reveal,
A story of love or despair,
But in each sincere brushstroke,
Will be the echo of our clash.
And thus, on the canvas of existence,
You and I, in an endless dance,
Will discover if love,
Is a stormy sky or a garden.
