GREAT SOUL IN MY COUNTRY 1 © 2007

I ignored the signs,

Forbidden, I continued to transgress,

I played with the law of life,

And nature became indifferent.

Alone, in front of the only certainty,

The doors are open to enter,

Death awaits me anxiously,

To be eternal in writing.

And, child, you can no longer play,

For time, relentless and certain,

Steals your laughter and your cries,

In a destiny already written, already near.

Life, in its cruel dance,

Gave me the taste of risk and pain,

And now, in an inevitable cycle,

It leads me to silence and numbness.

But it is in this announced end,

That I find the essence of being,

In the words I leave, engraved,

The echo of an existence fading.

And if the child can no longer play,

It will be in the lines I traced,

That the spirit will find a place,

To continue living in what I created.

Thus, I accept the end as a beginning,

Of a new way of existing,

Where death is not just torment,

But the key to never extinguishing.
