GREAT SOUL IN MY COUNTRY 2 © 2008
Everything I felt, I kept to myself,
I didn’t share with anyone, it stayed in my chest, indeed,
Here, in this account of the soul, I find my place,
To be and describe what I always saw overflowing.
The sadness in the eyes of those who always hoped,
The love that never came, the dream that faded,
Gathered in silence, crying without end,
Simplifying the disappointment, with nothing to declare.
Perhaps to complain, as a legacy,
The treaty of presence, a desire in hope,
To be an embryo at birth, fragile in remembrance,
And much more, to be eternal, in the memory that reaches.
Here, solitary, I revisit what I always kept,
The emotions I hid, the ones I never revealed,
And in the silence of these lines, I seek solace,
To be, at last, whole, without mask or control.
